I believe that for most contests, the top finishers in each category are
required to submit the logs via computer. For the ARRL 10M contest last
year, I submitted my logs on paper even though they were computer logged
(I use a Mac and my contest software doesn't output stuff in a decent
format easily). My score was pretty good. A couple of weeks ago, I got
a postcard from the ARRL requesting that I send them the logs
electronically. In order to do their log checking, they need it on
computer, so if you don't give it to them they have to manually enter
your logs. This could lead to more errors.
For the stations that submit paper logs for 200 QSOs, I doubt they even
do log checking so it doesn't matter.
It seems I remember reading in the CQ WWPX rules that top stations were
required to submit electronic logs.
So if a big log comes in completely on paper (handwritten), it has to be
manually entered by the scorers. That would stink!

Subject: [CQ-Contest] Honor Sprint #2 - Interest?
Message-ID: <Pine.OSF.3.95.990506074906.20114B-100000@gonzo.wolfenet.com>
Since sending out the announcement for the 2nd Honor Sprint to be run on
the 22nd, there hasn't been much interest shown. June turned out to be a
month that was too fractured to get agreement on a weekend. Maybe May
22nd in the morning isn't good either?
If you're planning on operating, let me know. Otherwise, I'll reschedule
at a better time for everyone. May and June must might not be good
months, even for shorties.
