The CQ 160 Committee met last weekend and here are the results.
1. Contacts with stations signing YU4, 4N4, YZ4 will not count. Stations
must secure a T9 call sign to be legal.
2. Contacts with stations signing 1X or 1B will not count. These
prefixes are not assigned by the ITU and thus illegal.
3. The QRP section of the contest will continue. A station must score at
least 1,000 points or have 3 participants from the same country or state to
be eligible for the certificate.
4. Any change to the message sent by DX stations has been tabled. The Dx
station must clearly ID their location (GW3XXX GW or VP2VX Br. Virgin
Islands). Two suggestions to send power (599200) or age (5941) were
entered. No mention of using a serial number as in the WPX contest was
discussed.
5. There will be a plaque for Pacific Rim contestants starting in 2000 on
both modes. Stations considered include VK, ZL, YB, 9M, V85, 1S, VR2. The
score must be significant enough to warrant the plaque.
