160 isn't the only band that feels the operator-ethics crunch.... there are
a quite a few East Coast stations which often sit in the narrow Japanese DX
Window on 80m SSB, endlessly calling CQ -- WHEN THEY DON'T HAVE PROPAGATION
TO JA. UNFORTUNATELY THEY ARE RUINING IT FOR WEST COAST AND MIDWEST
STATIONS WHO DO HAVE A PATH TO ASIA but can't get past the QRM.
The 160 violations are the worst, of course. But neither CQ-Magazine nor
ARRL seems eager to discipline an entrant. And it could be incredibly
simple-- the evidence of the evil deed is often in the computerized station
log of the offending station.
