Yep, and we should eliminate the various power categories too. Too
many guys claiming low power who are running amplifiers.

That's easy to say when you operate from a country that has a digital
telephone system.

Subject: Yaesu FT-990 Narrow SSB Filters
Mime-Version: 1.0
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii"
Hi All!
Santa has offered to bring me a new 2000 Hz filter for my old FT-990,
partly because she likes to do Multi Operator phone contests with us.
According to the manual, this filter goes into the 10.94 MHz IF, and the
stock Yaesu number is XF-10.9M-202-01. What is a good source for price and
delivery of these?
I see on the International Radio Web site http://www.qth.com/INRAD/ under
FT-990 filters that they have a Model 422 filter with the equivalent 2000
Hz bandwidth and 10.94 center frequency for $100.00 plus shipping.
Specifications:
1. Ultimate rejection: > 80 dB
2. Ripple: < 2 dB
3. Typical insertion loss: 250 Hz: < 9 dB; 500 Hz: < 7 dB; SSB/AM: < 6 dB
4. Zin/Zout: 500 ohms
Does anyone have any experience with either or both of these?
