The Contest Dinner was good the company was good and I didn't win any
door prizes.
I did spend a lot of time looking at the new Yaesu FT-920. Couldn't
really evaulate its performance but I did notice one thing. The main
tuning knob seemed to have a lot of "wobble" and the front panel "flexed"
in and out when the dial was turned. As a perpetual S&P type this gave
me some concern for the radio's durability in a contesters set-up.
The new Amp from Yaesu, the FT-1000, a full gallon output seemed
impressive with it's matching power supply. The styling is so nice that
the XYL even liked it and said I could get it and the FT-1000MP.
Hmmm, maybe there's a new rig in my future but I gotta finish rebuilding
the shack.
The WX was outstanding all 3 days as it always is whenever I manage to
get to Dayton.
73 from Lake Moneysgone, Dan, KW4T
P.S. Arrived late for Dinner and sat with a great group of guys I hadn't
met before. It was a real pleasure.
