If you ever wanted to operate a contest in another country with every thing
setup and provided, have a look a http://www.sv.net.au/fml this site has
lots of pictures of the location. The owner has just installed wire beams on
75m and 40m at the 900feet above see level location.

It also has a message about the winner of the 1995 All Asian DX contest
single op which was won at this station.

Someone else has said it before "In most cases the guys that walk away
with all the marbles sign their call after every Q". It doesn't take a
whole lot more time to simply give your call than to say qrz. Most ops get
into the flow when an op simply says his call instead of qrz. I've seen
all kinds of explanations as to why someone doesn't sign his call after
every Q, but I see no reason not to, and it PISSES off the majority of
ops. QDC?

Hi guys....

What is the wealth of experience out there using loop antennas...either
verticle or horizontal. I am not interested in the AEA type
mini-loop....but in the full size loop. What are you guys uysing if any?

Also, have anyone out there experimented with using coax (like RG58,RG59) as
the radiator in loops or dipoles to gain a little beeter bandwidth? I built
a 40 meter dipole using old RG62...feed with RG8...and the dipole is flat
across the whole band.

Comments please?

No Good. How many non-59's does it take? 1? 100? Whatever it is,
the contesting masses would just do their share of 58's until they
'made the quota'.

tHIS IS A very common practice in the broadcast industry. The
offending tower is tuned for PARALLEL resonance so no current will
flow in it. A drop wire from the top of the tower, or as high as
necessary, tuned with a capacitor to ground will do the trick.

A current sensor with the other tower excited o ra GDO will indicate
     resonance.
