178 QSO's. 40M: Dipole @ 50'
80M: Elevated sloping GP made of wire supported by pine
trees.
Rig: Ten Tec Omni-6 @ 90w
Felt nice to stay close or beat some of the guys using bigger hardware
and more power. TRLog worked great... just took some time to get used to
it.
Why can't everyone understand the sprint exchange format?
When it's going to be YOUR FREQUENCY: Send YOUR CALL LAST.
When it's NOT your frequency: Send your call after his call!
I QRM'ed alot of guys early because they sent their callsigns last in the
exchange when it wasn't their frequency. I learned who they were by hour
#2.
GREAT CONTEST. My XYL loved it too!

This is a great format.No shortage of people to
work! First contest with my new OMNI VI, it has
worked and sounded just fine the last month. Had to
leave 40M early- the 4 square is just too directional
and don't have an inv-v to "co-feed", like my
4 square/inv-v combo on 80.
Sorry I can't submit my log, but we don't have
Internet yet here in this part of the country, just
this MCI MAIL stuff. Doubt I could afford to send
the log via MCI MAIL !!!

My first Sprint-style contest! Spent 0200-0213 just listening to figure
out how this contest worked, then joined the fun. Was kinda confusing at
first (hey, you took my run freq!) but think I got the hang of it.
Was very strange to have the antenna pointing west, use a keyer and log
on paper. (But thank you G4BUO for the one QSO that made me think I was
in a DX test). Think my subconscious was gnawing at me to hit the F1
key... The 1 hour and 47 mins really flew by... Now to type the log into
the computer - whatta pain!
