Ah, what we need is a program to convert CT's Master.dta to a "RUFZ" *.dta
file. Then we would have a practice program with all the current calls.

This might be easy.
MASTER.DTA of CT is the ASCII callsign data separated by "space"
with binary headers.
RUFZFILE.DTA of RUFZ is simple ASCII callsign data with one
callsign in each line.
You use the editor which has binary edit capability and remove
all binary headers of the copy of MASTER.DTA, then replace all
"space" code with "LF+CR" code. This will be the same structure
of the RUFZFILE.DTA. Rename the produced file to RUFZFILE.DTA
or merge them into one file as RUFZFILE.DTA.
** Do not edit MASTER.DTA itself, copy to another file like
RFZFILE1.DTA then edit it. Without this procedure You'll lost it.
I've never tried this but will work.

Tree- Trey's is good, but for pure contest key-down time, I always
thought it was:

Had some incorrect descriptions;

The separater is not SPACE but "^@"(00h).

: "space" code with "LF+CR" code. This will be the same structure
So replace all (00h) code with (0Ah)="^J aka LF".
"^M aka CR"=(0Dh) was not required.
I confirmed the file produced by above procedure worked fine
with RUFZ.
Sorry for the inconvenient informations.
* Do not forget to send your RFZHISCR.DTA to me for listing.

AA5UO provided C3 gain and F/B figures which I strongly believa as they show
without the slightest doubt that wa are talking about 2 el. beam per band.
12 & 17m figures show the interaction of all 7 elements on non-resonant bands
Following the same logic, one can conclude that 20m reflector doesn't help much
with 10m & 15m as their directors are NOT improving 20m figures! All the other
nice things about C3 one can read in June 95 QST!

I like Mats' point -- here's a thought: The most important thing about a
callsign is that it be loud (and that the op can copy the answers). I
think Mats' point that the callsign be on enough to be recognized easily
is a good one too. There comes a point the odd long ones like WN4KKN,
WD8AUB, WD8LLY, and KA4RRU stand out and are memorable.

In my previous message about C3, I should have said: 20m & 15m reflector
do NOT help 10m pattern much as 10m director is not improving lower bands!
NCJ photo of C4 is not good enough to understand 40m operation. Any help?
