Now that I've got your attention ( I hope ) - I need a favor. My main
cw op, Carl Severa, AH8I (ex AA6LB, K5HO, EPsumthing and TT something)
is moving to the western part of Illinois this Sunday.

Carl put on KH8 on 160 last Feb.

He is looking to make a connection with a contest operation for the
times he will not be coming back to Folsom to play with us. He would
also appreciate knowing what cluster or dx repeater freqs are used in
that part of the world.

Losing Carl to the Midwest is a big blow to a lot of us here in the
Sacramento area - especially me. He is a fabulous radio tech (mobile
service, paging and avionics). He comes through on the practical side
of things when this engineer goes off theorizing.

So.....If anyone needs an op that does 40 wpm (ex navy op) has a
complete station (765 + 76PA) and is a wonderful fellow, please let me
know ASAP. I would like to be able to give him some dope ( yeah, I know
but this IS California) Saturday when we get together to say goodbye.

My loss, your gain.

Thanks very much

PS. Carl also has over 300 countries mobile. We will be losing his 75
Pontiac Stealth-mobile also. Worked great in last 2 CQP's from Glenn
and Sutter counties.

In my original response to N1EPU's filter survey, I forgot to include my
experience with the Kenwood 1.8Khz SSB filter. In my experience it hurt
intelligibility more than it helped by reducing QRM. I ended up taking it out
and selling it.

HC8A QSL's for the October 1994 contest are delayed at the printer. Actually
delayed in ordering.

Not to worry about postage increase's or anything. They should be here from
the printer in about 30 days. All cards are processed and waiting for the
new Color Printed Cards.

Do not re-order or re-send as there are piles and piles and all will be
going out in a little over a month.

The delay is on the 1994 CQWW SSB only all others being processed.
