Yes, the bands were bad at the start, but not bad enough to prevent me
from copying NINZER from N2AA and sending him .......you know, N4BO.
I thought I would give everyone a chance to send N4BO without penalty
(smirk)
Loudest from Folsom 1) 0000Z prison whistle
2) ve4vv when stack at 50 deg.
3) aa5bt when stack at 100 deg.
If N4BO got in your way, I apologize but........how 'bout five-owie?
There was an all-night stooge-a-thon on WTBS Friday night (again) and
I'm really suprised that CURL(E)Y did not make an appearance.
Now I know where Tree gets his scheduling from.
OH yeah 105 Q's. No one answered my cq's usually. Were you that
mad?

I don't have the Heil Headset so can't comment on the FT-1000 and Heil
combo. But the RX audio on my FT-1000D distorts at a much lower volume
level than other radios I've used lately (TS-930, IC-781, IC-765). When
I first got the 1000 I was very disappointed in the RX audio, to the
point I was thinking of selling the radio. Tried various headphones
including the Yaesu stereo phones (which helped a little). Finally
bought a small stereo amp that I use with the headphones and now have
decent RX audio. BTW I have a FT-757 that has the very same problem.
In my opinion the Yaesu RX audio circuit does need some work.
I posted something on this subject around a year ago and got one response
from a 1000 owner who agreed with the above. Not sure if lots of other
1000 owners also feel this way. Now that I have plenty of RX audio I do
think the 1000 is a great radio.
