CT help

I've got CT ver 5.08 for the moment and want to control a TS440S.

It shows COM2 as configured for the radio link, and the book for ver.6 says to
enter "setup" in the callsign field. I am then told "call requires a digit".
 How do I get to a setup menu to change ports?  Also, this version lists the 
TS940 as the only Kenwood. Will this run the 440?

For a 400, an XT clone and a PK232, for primarily a CW op, what would be an 
optimum version for me?
