Dave For the cutting of your coax to the exact half-wavelength, set your analyzer to half that frequency. Connect one end of the coax to the analyzer, and leave the far end open. Now slowly trim bits off the open end until the analyzer shows a very low resistance and little or no reactance. This is now a quarter wave stub at the analyzer frequency. It will be a half wave at the original desired frequency.
