I was interested to see on this page http://www.antenna.be/lpv.html a
picture of a vertical log periodic antenna. Unlike other vertical designs
that use a half-lpda against ground, this one uses both halves of the
elements, with a central feedline, like a standard horizontal one flipped 90
degrees. The main advantage in this design, as far as I can see, is that a
high gain wire antenna can be made that only requires only one high support
mast, plus one or two smaller ones for rear support.
Has any one tried this approach, or have any opinions on it ? I would be
interested to hear any comments.
