Got it figured out. Had to disassemble it to see what is going on.
Solid tube in the ceramic coil form.  Two smaller short shafts that
fit inside the internal tube.  One side has a 1/4" rod pressed on, and that
is the end that moves the coil.   Most of you already knew this - so never
mind.
