I keep seeing complaints about the cost of high powered amps. If you want to keep it cheap, buy a good used one, late production, and run it for a few years. You can probably sell it for what you paid if not more. Buy another and repeat. Don't let it get too old before selling. Cost of ownership: Zero, or close to it. Way better than homebrew, both of which I have done.
