Thanks to all that replied. I change the taps from the 110vac over to the
117vac taps and then I ended up taking the easy way out because I had the
wire on hand and added 20" of 20awg wire to each leg of the filament. The
filament voltage is within spec, the HV is closer to normal and all is well.

At 244V, the filament voltage will still be around 6.8v. You'll still need
that resistance. I've done a million 2100 series amps with a
ser5ies/parallel combination of low value 5W wirewound resistors.
There's enough room to mount them under the chassis, in the filament line.
