Charly, Answer True or false....... "All failures of ham radios are caused, ultimately, by excessive heat." False, of course. There are lots of failures caused by corrosion, impact, vibration, chemical degradation over time, fatigue, and so on. Excessive heat is involved in many failures, but not nearly in all.
