Hi BillUnfortunately, you can run any power you want and say anything you want on the air now and the FCC doesn't give a big rats a**. If you think that is not a true statement, listen to 3840 any evening. There are more F-bombs dropped there than when I worked in the woods. 73 Tom W7WHY REPLY: When I was a new ham back in the late 1950's, the FCC issued a number of citations for excess power and the details were printed in QST. As I recall, some of the citations were for very small transgressions of the 1kW limit, some as small as ten to twenty watts or so. It made enough of an impression that I remember it still.
