You can still go out to stores in US and buy solder with lead. I went to buy some yesterday (new solder in stores is expensive). I have a lot of tin/lead solder cheap from hamfests but for outdoor junctions I use the tin-copper-silver solder made and sold by manufacturers such as Bernzomatic. It is mostly tin with (according to the MSDS) around 20% copper, 0.5% silver and 1 or 2 % rosin flux. an 8 ounce roll cost $14. I am glad I don't use it much. It seems to hold up well out in the wx. 73 Rob K5UJ _______________________________________________ Amps mailing list Amps@contesting.com http://lists.contesting.com/mailman/listinfo/amps |
