The ones I convert to full bore 3CPX versions get ceramic or Teflon chimneys.
The late 800's had a nice EBM-Pabst fan that I use with earlier ones. Also a
temp sensor to change speeds. Some have been in contesting for over 20 years
with no problems and no heat blackened tubes either.

The LK-800's used the Eimac style which often melted to the tube even in
commercial products.
A well know contester uses an LK-800 and it's been in here for repairs, the
chimneys ARE melted to the tubes! But the cooling on that amp is a joke.
Maybe not for 1500 watts but when pushed to the limit...NOPE!
