Ah, you young kids are just spoiled.! <:-)) I just went from a auto
tune, auto band switching 1KW amp to a manual tune legal limit that I
can't lift. It has plenty of overhead, and would run the legal limit
on digital 24X7, but it is the old fashioned tube type. BTW, I said I
can't lift it, but I can. I just pay for it laying on the heating pad
for the next two days. 25 years ago I was doing full squats (deep knee
bends) with over twice that on my shoulders. Age does seem to limit
*some* activities. Anybody want to buy and airplane?
Now I'm trying to figure out how I'm going to justify the new station in
the den (after we finish remodeling) after upgrading the antennas AND
the station in the shop. My wife, who is also a ham (General class from
the 13WPM days) want's to know why I need TWO of those hernia builders
and another one for 6-meters AND didn't I say I was going to put those
4CX3000A7s on the air?
I gotta finish the mockup of the 2-meter 8877 KW RF Deck in The Handbook
using a 4CX3000A7 to show off at the next swap as part of my packet
station. <:-)) I'd like to have it to the point where it'd appear to be
operational. I really do plan on building one for CW, SSB, and digital.
No, not digital as in packet<:-)) Still...
