If I remember correctly the FCC went bananas on some mfg of 6m high power
amps because they were too easy to put on CB. I understand that everyone was
reluctant to build one because you could not get it thru the FCC for US sale
until electronics were used as a 27Mhz "Lockout". I don't remember where I
read it but I think it may have been on a Q & A with the folks at Alpha when
asked about it some time ago. Maybe someone here will correct me.
