I thought about this. But a choke isn't a high-Q device like a tank coil and 
there isn't a 
lot of RF current in it. The shorted turn will reduce the inductance and 
increase the 
losses (not a bad idea if it doesn't produce too much heat) and it does move 
the resonances.

I will try this at low power, as Carl suggested, and see if it gets warm.
