For the CW contest last weekend I made this cable for an MP MK-V and hooked
up the Alpha 78 for a try at QSK. The TX Inhibit did not work on the rig is
there some trick to turning it on or is it even necessary.
I used the 10k resistor between pins one and eight of the Band data conn. I
made 150 contacts or so running QSK with the TX delay set at 20ms and this
seemed to work. At this point I had an intermittent ground on an input
cable and I switched back to my Clipperton and made another 400 contacts
with it. Will try to get the Alpha back on but want to be sure the
switching is as 'safe' as possible before I try it again.
Any comments on setting the delay and or actually using the TX Inhibit line
on the MK-V
The Alpha 78 has the 'stock' QSK relays in it. (reed input and vacuum ant)
