4CX800 was a dream of George Badger and Bob Alprin. I summise that they were
trying to get the Svetlana tubes onto the market and use a number that was
more recciginazable thatn Gu74b.
It never did take off.
As said before, 4CX800 was never made by Eimac. I'm suprised they let the
Svetlana folks get away with it.. But they were ex Eimac employees.
