Lou, if you can't easily find the molex connector that fits, you can
jury-rig a workable solution just by using Molex pins or even 2 pieces of #22
wire...you're only using 2 conductors out of the 24 on the connector, and all
the rest are unused. I did this as a temporary solution on my 551D in about
1980, and it remained my amp keying system until 1989. Just don't take the
rig mobile over rough terrain!

The Icom 551(D) transceiver believe it or not does NOT have a "ground on
transmit" feature for amplifier use. It does however have an 8 vdc @ 2ma
output on transmit which is used in turn with an outbord transistor to
power
the amplifier TR switch. I am wondering if anyone knows where to get the
24 pin molex plug that mates with the 24 pin acc plug (female) at the rear
of that radio. If anyone has one or knows the part # or how to find the
part#, PLEASE....let me know. Thanks Lou
