Hi all,
The HV of my Command HF2500 is rather low around 1800-1900V (shown on the
meter) and drops down to 1500V, thus limiting the output power.
I wanted to check the HV supply components to see if somehting is wrong with
one or more diodes and/or capacitors. At my surprise, these components are
inside the pressurized grid compartement of the tubes.
If this is not a bad idea because it keeps the components cool, it is a VERY
BAD idea to have forgotten to make an easy access to them !
I will have to remove half of the amplifier to have a look on these
components... Tubes, connections to tank coil, tuning shaft, etc..... have
to be removed ! There i no access from UNDER the cabinet...!!!
So before i start this hard work, i want to know if someone has done this
before and has a good advice ?
Also, can someone give me the diodes and exact capacitors reference ? Trade,
model ?
The manual i have is VERY poor. You need a binocular to read the diagram,
the part list is uncomplete, etc...
Maybe it's because i have serial number 232 ?
Thanks for any help and advice(s)
73, Patrick
