There are many things that can be used for the glass tube, even cutting
off the end of a test tube. Glass tubing is also available at drug stores.
I'll have to pass on the cigar though. I quite over 30 years ago and
never had a seconds worth of withdrawal and that was after 2 1/2 packs
of Camels a day inhaled right down to my toes.
I'd be a bit wary of plastics. Plastics are generally hydrocarbon based
(polycarbonate), and can easily break down to the point of developing
carbon tracks under heat and an electrical arc. I'd stick with glass or
better yet, ceramic.
