Ken,
Did you notice the same (or similar) voltage sag with the TL-922A????
If so, check the IR drop between the breaker and the outlet.
I recently restored a FL-2100B for a local disabled ham. His rig was
wired for 120vac, but there was siginificant sag in the HV readings on
key down. Taking into account I had the rig powered from a short run
between the primary AC source and the outlet..........the voltage sag
was excessive.
Checked the dropping resistor first and compared the HV meter reading
on the FL-2100 to my external meter. Both were within a few % of each
other.
Dug into the rig and the power supply had the original resistors and
caps and diode board components. Found several out of tolerance
resistors and even a couple of the compensating resistors across the
diode string open. I just made the assumption there that the HV caps
were toast in one manner or another. Electrolytics over 25 years old
need replacing, IMHO! And yes, I've heard and tried the usual
rejuvenation tactics.
New diodes...........new bleeders............new HV
caps....................... and I did replace the compensating
resistors on the diode board although that was likely unnecessary since
the new diodes installed do not require them.
Lashed it back together and the voltage sag issue was solved. Sure,
there is some drop as to be expected.......but not out of the ordinary.
Output power was checked and the rig was producing good numbers on all
but 10m...........but that's not out of the ordinary either.
Just one persons experience...........

installed a dedicated 234v line in the shack. My 117v lines are a
little crowded
so I was thinking about converting the FL-2100B to 234v to use the line
that the
TL-922A used to use.
When I key the new amp, the plate voltage drops from 2,350vdc to about
1,800vdc
with the current 117v stock setup. I'm worried about the drop.
So, should I convert the Yaesu to 234v operation? It would not be that
hard for
me
skills wise and like I said, I *do* have the outlet......
