About three weeks ago I posted a problem as I could not turn on my Alpha 76.
Turns out that the off / on switch is defective only in the "on" position.
This is a very early 2 holer S/N 5032, probably made in Florida. My diagram
shows a 750 ohm 2 watt resistor in series with the relay coil, this appears
to be a "buffer resistor" to remove the inductive spark when the "on" switch
contacts close. Good idea, however this resistor was not installed in this
early amp. So after only 30 years, or so. the switch gave up.
Where can I find a SPDT, mom-off-mom , toggle switch , through hole mount.
Mouser and Digi-Key catalogs don't show it and Alpha is 0 stock. Help ! I
miss this old boat anchor.
