If the output of the Veeder Root units comes out at the bottom you can put a
small bevel gear on the end and another bevel gear with the same pitch on
the 1/4" shaft that drives the vacuum cap, mesh the 2 bevel gears and you're
done. I have a few turns counters that are made that way and they work fb.
