I suggest trying a Dremel type tool. One of my friends has an Alpha amp
which he had to return to Alpha for repair. He needed to remove the pwr
xfmr for shipping. He had messed up the cabinet screw heads and couldn't get
them out. I took my Dremel tool over there, put some masking tape around the
screw locations, cut a new slot in the screws and was able to get them out
without marring the cabinet. 73, Dan, N5AR

Sure. Just swap them out with a grid pin. Or better to replace the pin or
socket. If you do attempt to drill out the rivets holding the pin, be VERY
careful! You can break the socket. I know, I did this trying to do exactly
the same thing.
The Johnson style sockets are very plentiful so see if you can find a used
one. There is an individual on this list that sells used ones all the time.

Subject: [Amps] 3-500 sockets
I have one socket in my SB-220 that seems particularly prone to melting the
solder out of the filament pins on my 3-500Zs. I presume this is because
the spring contacts have gradually lost their temper. Is it possible to
obtain new contacts only, and to change them out? Alternatively, is it
feasible to swap contacts with the grid pins on this socket, on the
assumption that the connections have less stringent conditions?
