Recently acquired, without documentation, a quality built self contained, desk
top Tokyo High Power Amplifier running a pair of 3-500's. Printed on the front
panel is the model ID POWER AMPLIFIER P9306UL. What's confusing is an
additional front panel factory stenciled label that's printed Yokogama
Medical Systems. There's a single panel meter labeled IP (1 amp scale) with
no multimeter selector switch. What appears to be an 8 position front panel
bandswitch is actually labeled Magnet Type. The rear plate indicates that it
operates on 200VAC. Has a pair of N connectors labeled "RF in" and "RF out"
plus an additional rear panel array of BNC connectors labeled IP Out, Gate,RMT
and RF Moni. Although it has all the characteristics of an amplifier ( knobs
labeled Plate and Load controlling air variable capacitors) what adds to the
confusion is a small rear panel glued on bar code label indicating "GE
Medical System" with the number D051YK. Was wondering if anyone
is able to recognize the true purpose of this amplifier based on the sketchy
information. It has the makings of a quality retrofitted amplifier project but
a schematic or any additional info would be helpful. Unfortunately, attempting
the typical Internet searches netted no results. Any assistance would be
appreciated. Thanks, Ron W2CQM/3
