I have my QSK-5's hooked as follows:
Key 1: stays shorted to gnd
Key 2: hooked to rig's (Orion II, Pro III, or FT1KD)
amp t/r
Aux: nothing
Amp Relay: to amp relay (always keyed thru Key 1) I do
not t/r amp relay.
Amp stays in transmit, only few ma of plate current.
During long idle periods I just switch amp to standby.
Runs Alpha 99 and Commander HF-2500 Magnum without
fault at any speed and output on CW.
