The most interesting feature of the Emtron series
of Tetrode amplifiers was their using GU-78b
devices.
This tube, corresponding to a 4CX3,000A,
is available here and there still.
The only problem is tube sockets. The sockets
I have seen are somewhat less than sturdy.
Has anyone ever after-market manufactured
a GU-78b socket?
Will this tube fit any other socket?
An interesting amplifier design uses two
of these tetrodes in parallel with a 5 amp
supply.
