Yes, I realized my error with regard to Yahoo.  However, the problem being 
discussed in not about receiving duplicate messages from the reflector, but 
that of receiving a message from the reflector and the sender  . If I click 
on Reply All, my message goes to the reflector, and also goes directly to 
the previous sender, bypassing and without any action by the reflector. 
Thus, the previous sender gets two copies of the post. If I understand 
correctly, I believe the goal of most of us is to be able to click Reply and 
have the response go to the reflector rather than both.  I have also posted 
this to AMPS so that if my understanding is incorrect, others may correct 
me.

Log in and at the bottom of the list you will see an "Avoid
duplicate copy of messages?" choice:

  When you are listed explicitly in the To: or Cc: headers of a
  list message, you can opt to not receive another copy from the
  mailing list. Select Yes to avoid receiving copies from the
  mailing list; select No to receive copies.
