Corona is observed with 1100 watt input @ 3600 KHz on the 3 mm diameter tip
of the whip.
The corona discharge causes blue ionized flames approx. 2-4 inch long. The
discharge happens with a cracking sound in the rhythm of the SSB voice
peaks. Placing a 1 inch aluminium ball on top of he whip stops the corona
discharge.
