There's a technique described in my old ARRL Handbooks (1960's vintage)
to test an amplifier for self-oscillation -- at LF, HF, and VHF. It
describes the testing procedure, and discusses creating a suppressor (in
the case of VHF parasitics) that will prevent oscillation with the
smallest amount of loss. Rather than simply copying suppressors used in
other amplifiers with physically different layouts, it seems to me that
this procedure is a reasonable thing to do when building an amplifier.
It might turn out that no VHF suppressor is needed -- or not.
