One has to consider the "Fudge Factor". That unavoidable event that happens such as a miss-tuning/wrong antenna, etc. Solid state device aren't near as forgiving as their 'Hollow State' big brothers. The light weight and smaller package make them great especially for DXpeditions. However, I like the 'Kevlar' likeness of the a tube amp. FWIW.
