If I recall, the 555 output means something about the leads not being attached. They made an attachment that connected to the 4 jacks which had some long female clip jacks built in a small box. You could also get a set of Kelvin leads for it. The leads can be made though and those jacks have to be interconnected right for the 555 to go off.
