Doc said, This is a project I think I can handle and learn from. It also gets me 1500W PEP output from a 12v amp at a price I can afford. ____________________________________________________________ I'm interested in where you go with this. I have one of those (11m) 12v amp's that offer 1500+watts out. In fact it requires a rather stiff 14v rail and more drive than the typical 100w ham rig can produce. It uses 16 x 2SC2879's and draws 300A. I have a new Electrodyne 350A alternator waiting for my next HF mobile project. The bias circuit was developed by someone who frequents this list. Once you hopefully auto-switch all those output filters maybe you should call the amp "Son of Metron" :-) (((73))) -- Philip de Cadenet G4ZOW Transmitters 'R' Us http://www.transmittersrus.com _______________________________________________ Amps mailing list Amps@contesting.com http://lists.contesting.com/mailman/listinfo/amps |
