I note the HT57 (N750 series 200pf 15KV) has a max current rating on their

exceeding the max rated 15kv.

Hello, Neil -- The data is based on an allowable rise in temperature over ambient. To calculate the actual potential across the capacitor requires a bit of math. For example, 200pF has c. 25-ohms of XC at 30MHz. Since E = I x R, E = 15A x 25-ohms = 375V-rms. Thus, exceeding 375V at 30MHz would exceed 15A and overheat the capacitor.

Does than mean their current handling is much great at, for example 4kv? And
has anyone any data on their current handling rating at 50MHz?

My guess is that the current handling ability at 50MHz is c. 16A.

Any info appreciated.
