 That will provide plenty of pressure at 1700-rpm, even for the 8171's big brother.
cheers

The pressure drop as well as the noise drop will be exponential. However, if a tube with a large anode cooler is used - such as an 8171 - a 1700-rpm blower will usually do the job, especially for SSB and telegraphy. What is the diameter of the squirrel cage, Ken?

*******Rich, The diameter of the blade is 9.5 inches.

Hi,
I have a Dayton pressure blower that puts out 820 CFM with a 3450 RPM
1/3 HP motor. If I substitute a 1725 RPM 1/4 HP motor will the CFM drop
in
half? Will the roaring sound drop accordingly also? I hope there is a
straight formula rather than working with fan diameter and number of blades
etc?
