Thanks for all the replies to my TL922 troubleshooting issue.

Amazing what happens when you walk away from something and go back to it
with a clear mind the next day!    I found that the plate blocking (DC-RF)
cap C34 (1000pf/15kv) had a crack and a black line thru the side of it.  I
guess the higher plate voltage (SSB vs. CW) was enough to arc across the
cap's dielectric material.

Now off to secure a replacement.  BTW, the manual calls for a 2000pf,
whereas the amp came with a 1000pf.  I guess there was a change somewhere
along the line.  It appears that Kenwood parts still has them at around $40,
so I'll order one tomorrow.
