I have calculated the magnitude of the circulating harmonic currents in the
tank coil of a typical PI-NET amplifier (Q=9) and found them to be well under
-60dbc from 7f and up. Since the field of the tank coil would be the likeliest
contributor of VHF death rays due to its large external field, this is a good
first approximation for resolving the issue.
P.S. I have always used very fine mesh screen for the window, which is also
what many commercial TX mfrs. have done throughout the past. It gives an even
more etherial view of nice glowing anodes than window screen. It is availiable
in any quantity, mesh, and material (copper, bronze, SS, fiberglass. etc.)
