Good point Rich
The point of BPL is to provide "the last mile" of transmission. In this case
between the telephone company central office and the end user. There is
probably less than half a dozen transformers that have to be bypassed in most
circumstances.

What puzzles me is how does one put 2MHz digital info back and forth
through numerous 60Hz transformers? A DSL-telephone line is a whole
nuther ballgame since it is basically a balanced transmission line
without tranformers.
