That is why you should keep the shield on it.
We use RG 59 for up to 5KV DC.

insides.... worky worky, never a problem! ON THE OTHER HAND ... have used the
TV style CRT lead, too.. again, never a problem. Having said that ... I'll be
darned if I would let the HV line brush my nekkid leg under the desk! Tsk Tsk!
