I use several of these little amps here, even use them up on 10M just
change the low pass filter. The problem with the 817 would most likely be
the drive level is 3 dB to 6 dB or so to high. This amp does not like to
be over driven. I have mounted additional soft copper heat dissipation
units as well, it got rather warm at continuous key down....
An even neater trick is to use one of the relatively new 12V DC to 115V AC
converters. I have a 300W unit here that I use on occasion with a single
813 to get 150W output or so. All done with simple 60 Hz transformers and
works great.
