Hi,

I'm just comissioning a PA with GS35B. While checking the functionality I
found that there is just a couple-condensator to the katode of the GG-Amp.
With other words there is no input-filter. The PA has normal gain and it
looks like the input load is close to 50Ohm as my driver (FT-847) give full
100W.
Is a filter in the input required? I'm not sure as I saw designs with and
without such input filter( Pi-filter).

It is better for linearity to use a input-filter with a low Q or is it only
needed for proper machting?

If a filter is doing any improvements would a 3-5pol lowpass filter do the
same job, or do I have to put a bandpass into the input circuit?

How close do I have to place a required filter in frond of the Katode, if
required?

(I have a 1KW Lowpass filter which I could use in frond of the PA).

Thanks for your help in advance

Oliver, DL1EJA
