Just a small point for anyone who follows this advice to the letter:  If you 
do this and your run is very long you'll get into rf grounding problems. A 
20 or 30 ft. ground cable across a basement makes a nice indoor antenna and, 
(based on my own experience) makes your amp unuseable.  If you aren't near 
the service entrance and you can't or don't want to move then the ground 
line has to make a short run outside to a below grade ground that is tied to 
all your entrances.
